Thank You for Attending this Weekend's Benefit.
We will post all the winners and have pictures of the event soon.
Carlos Infante was a friend, a brother, a son, a husband and a father, not unlike someone you may know. On February 15, 2007 he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Carlos was only 41 years old. He had a wife, Jone’e, and a 2 year old daughter, Ava. All his life he had been exceptionally fit. He was a top wrestler throughout his years at Steinmetz High School and won many awards as a competitive bodybuilder. His health had never been in question until cancer hit. The cancer has taken a huge toll emotionally and financially.
Carlos had worked as a Local #130 plumber for twenty years but had been unable to work since January 2007 due to the crippling effects of the cancer, multiple surgeries, intensive radiation and chemotherapy. His colon cancer sadly progressed to stage 4. He had three surgeries to remove the cancer, but it kept coming back. The cancer grew around his colon and on part of his stomach, the doctors said it was inoperable, and the prognosis gave him only a few months to live.
It saddens us to say that on April 19, 2008 his fight with cancer came to an end. Unfortunately, the most effective medicines and treatments were financially beyond Carlos’ means. He was with us physically at the creation of this benefit and now he is with us in spirit.
One of the traits Carlos was well known for was his generosity, let’s keep that alive. Today we, the family and friends of Carlos Infante, ask that you please help with the reality that cancer can devastate more than the person afflicted. Please help support Carlos’ family with the financial burden associated with his surgeries, treatments, medicines, and lengthy hospital stays.
Any donation you can offer will be greatly appreciated. We will accept any item for our raffle and silent auction, gift cards/certificates, cash or check. All proceeds will go directly to the family.
